Faces of Rescue
Our Story
Bugsy’s Rabbit Sanctuary was founded in 2013 to address the growing needs of domestic rabbits in our Central Florida community. Since then we have rescued, rehabilitated, and adopted out dozens of rabbits, participated in fundraising events, and impacted our community through educational outreach events. Bugsy was our founder’s first rabbit, who inspired her to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. What started as a fostering project grew rapidly into a rescue dedicated to improving the quality of rabbits’ lives, and increasing public awareness of the issues these animals face.
A Word from Our Founder
Hi, my name is Coral. I am a senior in high school, and the owner/founder of Bugsy’s Rabbit Sanctuary. For over a decade, my family has been blessed to have bunnies as part of our lives, so when I learned how often these animals are neglected, abused, and abandoned across the country (all as a result of human ignorance or apathy), I felt a calling to do whatever I could to mitigate these issues. At the age of 12, I founded my organization, and since then it has been a passion project of my own design. I personally receive unwanted rabbits, take them into my home and rehabilitate them, and ensure they find loving homes with responsible families. Rabbits are some of the most intelligent, affectionate, and emotional beings I have ever encountered. That is why my dream is that one day, they will all be treated with the respect and dignity they deserve. Thank you so much for visiting my website – I’ve worked very hard to build it, so that more people will become aware of my cause, and discover the joys of bunnies.
